This is the fifth of 15 sets of back-to-backs on the Preds’ schedule and they seem to do better on the back end than on the front, going 2-3-0 in the openers and 3-1-0 on the back end.Minnesota is still without forwards Petr Sykora and Pierre-Marc Bouchard, as well as defenseman Brent Burns. All are sidelined with concussions. … Nashville center Dave Scatchard has missed the Preds’ last three games with an upper-body injury.
Ellis stopped shots while giving Pekka Rinne a night off but Rinne’s been no slouch himself, winning 11 of 12 starts. Erat has eight points in his last eight games.
The Predators were looking forward to this short two-game road trip if only for a change of pace. They had played eight of nine at home and were doing pretty well, winning seven of eight until the Calgary Flames came to town and did what they’ve been doing to home teams all year, handing them a 5-0 calling card. They followed the OT loss at Minnesota with a solid 4-1 win at Chicago.

The Wild ended their six-of-seven home stretch by rallying for a 5-4 shootout win over Anaheim to get back to the .500 mark a nice accomplishment for a team that started 3-9-0. They’ve won four in a row. Highlights, live score and results will be available soon.. stay with us.
