Dallas forward Fabian Brunnstrom has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury. Forwards Brian Sutherby and Jere Lehtinen both missed the game against Phoenix due to groin injuries.

Jimmy Howard is finally getting his chance to show what he can do in goal for Detroit, and the 25-year-old is taking full advantage. With Chris Osgood battling the flu, Howard has started and won three consecutive games, allowing just one goal in wins over Columbus and Vancouver.
